Charles Conn (with Rob McLean) wrote the recently released book on this topic, Bulletproof Problem Solving: the only Skill you Really Need (Wiley 2019), after years of experience at McKinsey, the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation (environment) and the Rhodes Trust. Charles is now the CEO of Oxford Sciences Innovation, the venture firm set up in partnership with Oxford University.

How can the international community achieve its shared goal of poverty reduction “in a sustainable manner?” What do today’s economic trends mean for growth, poverty reduction, and ecosystems? What strategy does the World Bank have to facilitate green finance, and to promote lower-carbon and more resilient investments? This session will walk through recent World Bank work on poverty, natural capital and sustainability to answer a few of these questions – and to raise many more.
